Hate Me Today, Love Me Tomorrow is a half-baked idea of Luca Brasi. Whilst a number of his projects have been in hiatus, Luca decided to go back to his year six and seven cassettes and experiment with the elements of the bands that gave him a reason to pick up the guitar in the first place, namely Godflesh, My Bloody Valentine, Midnight Oil and Dire Straits. HMT, LMT’s debut album More of the Same can be likened to a drunken night in at home alone with a good bottle of red, flicking through that bad year 10 journal, looking at photos and reminiscing on what ifs, all the while listening to those albums you don’t care to admit to owning. From the opening discordant bars of “The Pink Dollar,” through to the nauseous drone of love-ballad “I sing the songs that noone wants to hear, that noone gives a fuck about anymore” MOTS is the sound of a 30 year old man trying to recapture his youth.
