He Danced Ivy are a handsomely loud alternative-rock band blending grunge influenced punk-rock with punk influenced prog. Multi-layered vocal harmonies, twisted song structures and an energetic in-your-face-but-in-a-good-way ferocity are smashed together to form a sound affectionately referred to as “Party-Prog”. Forming in Coffs Harbour (NSW) in 2014, the band relocated to Brisbane in early 2016, releasing their debut album, ‘The Verbal Kind’ later that year. ‘The Verbal Kind’ (Mixed/Mastered by Forrester Savell) is a 10-track exploration of verbal miscommunication, bone-crushing breakdowns, intricate instrumentation and soaring energy peppered with dynamic breaks and lush layering – leaving the listener with an undeniable urge to slam the replay button as hard and as fast as possible.
