HEAD OF STATE have played heaps of rad places (Annandale, Cambridge, Hopetoun, Metro, Bar On The Hill) with heaps of rad bands (The Drones, Airbourne, The Sleepy Jackson, Wolf & Cub, Spoon, Faker, Shihad). Head Of State from Newcastle, have been exploring the guitar-rock scope since conception, and with a host of shows under their belt, they finally deliver their debut album! 23 songs tracked live in the studio in 2 days, "The Spirit Of The Staircase" is a modern retrospect of Head Of State's catalogue, delivered in it's loudest and rawest form! This record represents the scope of Head Of State, with highlights including the post-relationship pub-rocker "Little Part Of You", the creepy "Temptation", the dirty blues of "Siento Iguales" which shows just how raw this thing is, the dynamic “Your Own Life”, the 60's inspired "Realize", the fuck-you "Hurter II" and the acoustic and emotional "All The Right Friends" about a lost friend. Believed to be the first debut double-album released
