Heart Tribe are a funky reggae/dub and dance band who's tight yet improvisatory style and unique tempo changes keep the audience on their toes. They come from the North Coast of NSW and have shared the stage with King Tide, Oka and Ganga Giri. The motivation behind Heart Tribe is to show the power of positive hearts in community. They take their audience on a journey with an ever-changing spectrum of sound; uniting reggae and dub with musical influences as far ranging as to middle Eastern grooves, funk, Latin, electro and soul. They have a definite international flavour with a Belgian/Egyptian lead singer and a fascinating collection of instruments, including shakuhachi, didgeribone (slide didg), a cimbalom (52-stringed instrument originating from the middle East), unique woodwinds, keyboards, midi controllers, delay pedals, a laptop and a super solid rhythm section equipped with a 5-string bass guitar and a wickedly complex drum kit.
