Heed the porter are a 5 piece alt rock / blues band based in Brisbane, formed in late 2015. The members have a wide range of influences and musical experience in everything from country, alternative country, Jazz, show band and rock. Their sound reflects the member’s disparate experiences and skip across alternate rock and blues genres with country and jazz influences. The songs have their roots in country and rock and reflect the bands experiences and observations of life and relationships. Whilst Rob and Michelle are the main songwriters, all members have input into the songs and their individual parts. All members commenced playing and performing music from a young age. Whilst saxophonist Darren McPherson and drummer David Shaw have played and performed constantly for over 35 years, Rob, Michelle and Rick each took time off from performing music in their mid 20’s for family and careers before being drawn back to performing music in the last 10 years.
