HELLIOUS is an Australian melodic metal band from the northern suburbs of Perth which began in April 2009, Former members of 'Streets Of Gotham' and 'Mirrors' guitarist 'Deejay' along with his brother 'Matty' on drums, both origionally started off writing the music with the influence of bands such as 'Machine Head' 'Sepultura' 'Parkway Drive' and many more. In December with no bass player or vocalist, Deejay booked a gig in Fremantle hoping to find fill in musos for the gig. The saturday before the gig, Deejay and Matty were jamming at a local rehearsal studio. John who was the bassist in a band called 'Fringe Benefit' with Deejay and Matty back in 2003, was hanging out with Niko who had been looking after the rehearsal studio. It was a coincidence that John was a bassist and Niko was a vocalist looking for a band, that was all Deejay and Matty needed. They both asked if John and Niko would fill in for the gig and they did the following weekend which was pretty much improvised
