Here Come The Birds grew out of the childhood friendship between Chris Stanton (guitar) and Shaun McKay (bass) in the steel city of Newcastle. After meeting Tom Bellamy (guitar) and Dane Bates (vocals) at university it only took Adrian Smith (drums) to complete the Newcastle five piece. A camping trip with some wild birds was enough inspiration for the name and soon after, in 2005, they hit the stage. From humble beginnings the quintet exploded onto the Australian music scene, garnering a huge response to their debut self-titled EP in 2008, which was released to critical acclaim and achieved successes such as iTunes single of the week, international radio airplay and several songs featured in global film releases. Never drawing breath, the lads have played festival stages up and down the east coast and shared venues with some of Australia's and the worlds biggest bands.
