In the year 2009, Heute-und was born, and like many music projects of this time it was born and spent much of its infancy restricted to the confines of a man’s apartment. This man (Simon) states that his initial inspiration arose from a curiosity with a handful of bands who began playing louder and louder, seemingly for the sake of it. As a result Simon began experimenting with music at loud volumes, though he soon realised there was something more to it “not for the sake of being loud, but to sort of see what soundscapes you can make at such a volume”. The result was a blend of bittersweet melodies and punk aggression combining to make engaging music that your parents definitely won’t like/understand. Having released the EP “Peninsula” in early 2010 and having recruited a drummer (Thommo) and bassist (Jamie Lee) and the group began rehearsing furiously.
