Ebbing and flowing, pushing and pulling, big waves of soft sound. Unpretentiously and whole-heartedly in the valley between spiritual jazz and art-folk. Virtuosic musicians who know that musical strength comes from simplicity. Hoi Palloi released their warm, atmospheric and watery debut EP 'Beneath the Quiet Insulation of the Stars' late 2018 after playing their songs around Melbourne all year. They've been busy little sea otters since then, gleaning radio play on Triple J, filming a Sofar Sounds video and hosting a 4 week residency at the Gasometer Hotel's bandroom. They are set for more adventures this year; continuing to weave narrative, lush harmony, texture, interaction and improvisation throughout their music.
