Melbourne based band Huxami (Hoo-ZAH-me) is the musical creation of singer/pianist Francis Macindoe, guitarist Lachlan Hensey, bassist Liam Powell and drummer Tommy Harrison. Taking cues from boundary-bending bands such as The Necks, Kneebody, Battles and Wilco, their music demonstrates a strong collective vision that manifests in exploratory structures, rich textures and a sense of urgency. Through a lyrical style that draws from stream of consciousness writing, storytelling and broken phrasing, Francis finds ways to articulate the seemingly ineffable qualities of dreams and the perplexity of human experience. The result of a collaborative creative process fueled by Yerba Mate, Huxami's sound lands somewhere at the nexus of progressive folk, modern jazz and art rock. facebook.com/huxami
