Hypnogogia is a Perth based band formed in early 2006. The name Hypnogogia (pronounced as pretentiously as possible) is based on the phenomenon of vivid dream-like auditory and visual hallucinations that some people experience in the moments between waking and sleeping. Hypnogogia's music is often dark but always beautiful and gripping as it conveys a range of human conditions and possible futures from tales of lost love and ambition to waking from a cryonic sleep to find you are spiralling towards a sun. It is difficult to classify into a specific genre but it was once described as psychedelic chamber music. We can live with that.
