Sydney based Indie singer-songwriter lain T. McKelvey blends elements of folk, blues and classic rock. His sound is a nuanced balance between storytelling and expansive instrumentals, boasting poignant lyricism and a feeling of common human connection. Iain T. McKelvey debuted in 2018 with the release of his single ‘Peaches And Cream’, which premiered via Happy Mag and received airplay across the country.

It was in 2020, during COVID lockdown that Iain decided to form The Midnight Tangos, solidifying the project as a developed full band with a more mature sound. The band have since released multiple singles whilst electrifying audiences at venues such as
The Vanguard, Waywards, The Lansdowne and more. In 2024, Iain T. McKelvey returns without the Midnight Tangos name. Whilst the band still exists and they collaborated on this fresh batch of songs, the shift back to his own name felt more accurate and reflective of an artist now fully confident in his craft. Iain T. McKelvey returns with an open book in front of him and his most expansive sound yet. His new single ‘There Goes Hollywood’ is out everywhere on April 16th.
