Ian Burns has many strings to his bow, working as a horse chiropractor by day, and an award-winning country singer-songwriter at night and weekends. Delving into the music scene in 2014, the NSW Mid-North Coast artist has since released four studio albums, with his latest, California, produced by Simon Johnson at Hillbilly Hut, making waves in the industry. On stage, Ian is an engaging and energetic live performer that audiences love. The album, California, dropped in August 2022 and the album and its singles not only charted well in terms of radio airplay and sales but also earned him recognition, such as winning the Tamworth Songwriters Association Local Heroes Song of the Year for Think Again in January 2021. Not one to rest on his laurels, Ian continued to captivate audiences during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns with releases like Think Again and Friday Night, culminating in the release of The Climb in October 2021 – all singles off California. Ian's success extends to the 2022 Australian Country Music People's Choice Awards, where he secured a finalist spot. In a celebratory move, he gifted fans The Outlaws in January 2022, a party anthem echoing his dynamic musical range. Two Sides Of Me not only bagged him Best Album at the 2020 Tamworth Country Music Festival but also secured a spot in the top 10 albums for Traditional Country Music of Australia. Beyond accolades, Ian's music showcases collaborations with Australia's top musicians and consistently performs well on radio charts and streaming platforms. As he gears up for live performances in 2024, either solo or with his band, Ian will graduate from the CMAA Academy of Country Music in January and continue to imprint his mark on the country music landscape, proving that his journey is a harmonious blend of passion, talent, and well-deserved recognition.
