All Things Change - lead single from the Icky Sitch debut album ‘Mrs Daisy’s Sweet and Savoury’ Four Peninsula locals came together during the maelstrom of lockdowns in 2020, collaborating online and getting together when possible to craft an album of 13 original songs. With two lead vocalists and a stunning array of songs with hooks you could hang a heavy coat on, Icky Sitch have taken their formidable live shows into the studio and created a superb debut offering. Hailing from the Mornington Peninsula, the band have honed their craft live and have built a core following out of their long term residency at the Sound Bar in Capel Sound. Their first album has been a labour of love since May 2022 and has a joyous Huxton Creepers/Sunnyboys indie guitar pop vibe to it. The soaring vocals and harmonies of Finn Swayn (vocals/bass) and Dylan Walker (Vocals/keys) sit over Bon Short’s infectious drum grooves and the incendiary guitar work of James Nougher. The band recorded the album over a period of months at Capel Sound Studios on the Mornington Peninsula last May with Dave Walker and Dan Swan at the desk. The studio afforded them an opportunity to bring different sounds to the table, with the band enlisting the help of horn player extraordinaire Jack Howard from Hunters and Collectors and violin maestro Greg Hunt on select tracks. As part of their commitment to community and engagement with people of all ages, the band worked with a young string section from Mornington Park Primary School and sax players from Eastbourne Primary School to contribute parts to the album. With its irresistible blend of classic rock and roll, soulful storytelling and unexpected musical adventures, Mrs Daisy’s Sweet and Savoury is an exceptional debut release that needs to be heard.
