As a staple of the WA Hardcore scene for close to 10 years, Idle Eyes have proven themselves to be one of Planet Perth’s dearest treasures. Having shared the stage with a slew of international acts including Trophy Eyes, Backtrack, Being as an Ocean, Defeater, Bane, Gorilla Biscuits and respected locals Miles Away and Break Even their hometown fans constantly turn up in droves to swing arms and grab mic’s. Their latest effort ‘Parasite’ shows the band exploring a softer sound while still maintaining their punk roots. Front person Shah (Mohammed Shahil Abdul Latip) describes the track being about the growing pains and self-acceptance. “I wanted to write about how I felt like I’d let myself settle for who I was at the time & not want to grow any further in my own beliefs, morals & mind set. A lot of this one is about ‘coming out’, relationships & coming to terms with being a different person to who I’d let myself become”
