Led by singer/ songwriter Trish Molloy, and featuring Nick Emtage's heartfelt trumpet, the trio hale from the tropics of far north Queensland, and are best known for their sepia toned, deep folk music. Inspired by storytellers like Gillian Welsh and Townes Van Sant, to Tom Waits and Dr John, and of course, the prolific Anon. In The Wild Wood cross the boundaries between folky Irish and American heartlands murder ballads, into gypsy swing, blues, and a bit of circus waltz, telling ghostly tales and darkly comic tragedies, and sweet snippets of life from far northern Australia. In The Wild Wood has just released their debut ep, produced by the wonderful Danielle Caruana (Mama Kin). Have a little listen to a few tracks here.
