Bio history

Distrosub

Going “off-grid” has proven to inspire great advances in ethical living, iNTERMITENT is here to show how it can also prove to be beneficial to ethical composing and production. Consisting of just one band member, J-M writes, plays and records all aspects heard on the new single Seventh released by iNTERMITENT which has been mixed by the ARIA-winning Lachlan 'Magoo' Goold (Midnight Oil, Regurgitator, Powderfinger), who posits that DIY recording is a new paradigm of the recording studio. iNTERMITENT’s approach to songwriting and recording is righteously DIY. Employing a 'use what you have' mentality, the instruments heard are mostly gifts or borrowed from friends and family, while vocal booths consisting of blankets and ladders are set up in unique locations around Australia. Using a 12 Volt off grid battery as a power source, it gave J-M the flexibility to record on the road and in remote places such as a national forest, motels, half built homes and the back of cars.
