IO
IO started as two high school friends became one for a moment in a psychedelic experience upon the Town Belt of Wellington. On a moonless, starlit night exquisitely lost upon the hill, Tony and Ed gazed into one another’s faces, with tears streaming down their cheeks they witnessed the history of life in the universe unfold upon each others faces for what seemed like hours. IO create psychedelic, soulful, electronic, jazz influenced, dance music.
IO is 16 year old South Australian music maker Ariel Blacher-Rasheed. He has been producing his own brand of electronic music since 2011, and has gone on to be a prolific music maker, with upward of 40 songs under his belt. The tracks posted on JJJ Unearthed explore IO’s favourite sounds in the realms of deep house, chill- trap and drum and bass. A passionate (obsessed!) creator of sounds, IO recognises that he is still developing as an artist and music producer and is open to new musical experiences and opportunities.
