Often when a Supergroup emerges, it's from the ashes of various bands who called it quits too early, and whose various well known members had creative itches that they simply were unable to scratch due to a lack of an outlet. For many reasons, Ivan Drago is not a good example of this. Rather than ashes, Ivan Drago has formed from the still raging fires of various Sydney bands, and have managed to coast by for a couple of years without having to put in a whole lot of effort. Where some bands might punch out 50 songs before breakfast, Ivan Drago are the band equivalent of waking up at 11am on a Wednesday, asking wearily 'wheres the fucking Berocca?'. But with a relaxed attitude comes patience, and with patience comes good tunes. Good, punk rock tunes, of course, and that's what Ivan Drago's new self titled album is full of. From songs about partying and football to songs about vegetables and good diet and exercise, they fit a lot into their 10 song record. There are contrasting
