Recording rap songs on his Spanish father's tape players at the tender age of 11, J-Func has always loved hip-hop, but it wasn't until he was 19 when he started to delve into making the music behind it and recording real songs. Strongly influenced by 90s West Coast Gangsta Rap legends such as 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and DJ Quik; 70s and 80s Funk, Disco and Soul music from Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire and George Duke; and new-west artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q, J-Func created his own signature sound which is unlike any other.
