J.S Rawlins is the slightly more pretentious but much more googleable stage name of Thomas Williams. He is a Ballarat/Melbourne-based musician, songwriter and composer. Rawlins' musical tastes are broad and encompass anything from classical to synthpop to classic rock and his influences are as diverse as Amy Winehouse, The Killers and Bach (hence the "J.S"). He trained as a classical pianist and composer, including a brief stint at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, before turning his attention to contemporary music in 2016. His eclectic blend of indie pop features rich harmony and colourful instrumentation with soaring, heartfelt melodies and introspective lyrics that explore themes of loneliness and jealousy.
