J. Steinfort is a singer-songwriter from Melbourne, Australia, lovingly crafting homemade indie-folk from a shipping container studio in his backyard. A mostly self-taught musician and multi-instrumentalist, he pairs a love of lo-fi recording with an obsessive streak, landing on a sound that's polished yet evocatively raw. Honest, unadorned storytelling sits alongside a late-90s/2000s sonic sensibility, drawing comparisons to Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine and Phoebe Bridgers.
