Jakarta Criers’ upcoming second EP is a massive progressive step into a new sound. It is a concentration of all the best parts of the band to date, from their debut EP ‘Moonlife’, 2014 singles ‘Alright For Me’ and ‘Long Way Round’, and the members’ experiences together and individually. Teaming up with Australian producer Jean-Paul Fung (Birds of Tokyo, Last Dinosaurs, Lime Cordiale) has been a telling step in the right direction, whose influence has focussed the band’s greatest musical elements and characteristics to open up a bright future for the band. The EP’s first single ‘Medicine’ heads a group of songs the strongest the band has written. The track is vintage Jakarta Criers, powerful melodies and intricate lyrics, but with a new defined sound, representing the best of Jakarta Criers’ new direction.
