Jamiesha is a Meanjin based band that draws inspiration from their Indigenous roots in the Barkindji nation and Western Samoa. Their music is a unique fusion of pop, rock, hip hop, and soul, embodying a celebration of culture, pride, and protest. From the upbeat rhythms of their hip hop songs to the soulful melodies of their ballads, Jamiesha's music is an expression of their identity and their determination to make a positive impact on the world, inspiring audiences to embrace their own heritage and to stand proud in what they believe in. Jamiesha was born from the husband and wife duo of James & Aniesha, and has since grown into a 5 piece group which includes their son Mone and Aniesha's younger brother Gling. The group is a mixed bag of Barkindji & Western Samoan bloodlines. Their last single Bloodshed was nominated for a Queensland Music Award in 2025 in the Hip Hop category.
