happy(ish) is the first effort from jarry - the solo project of Sydney-cum-Melbourne-cum-regional Queensland musician, Jarred Young. Motivated by a desire to challenge himself technically and creatively, the typically collaborative Young (of Bad Pony, FEELDS, KIT, Hannah Blackburn) wrote, recorded and produced the tracks himself. Moments of deep sorrow are interspersed with merciful moments of joy and sincere gratitude. Challenging stories are told with refreshing (albeit brutal) candor. The resulting EP is a series of stylistically and thematically diverse songs exploring alienation, heartbreak, self-loathing and, ultimately, a quest for self-love. Due March 2022
