Newcastle’s Jason Lowe has just released his long awaited fourth studio album, Sorrow & Splendour (Independent release) Nationally and internationally renowned for his prodigious abilities both as a Singer-Songwriter, Multi Instrumentalist, Poet, and Performer, Sorrow & Splendour is being regarded as Lowe’s finest work to date. Written over the course of six years since his previous Self Titled release of 2012, Lowe delivers twelve masterfully written original songs set amongst lush arrangements of profound musicality and romantic melody, taking us on an awe inspiring journey of the heart and soul. Largely inspired by Lowe’s two years spent in Canada following in the footsteps of his heroes Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Neil Young, the album is a cinematic masterpiece, and song by song encapsulates magnificently the wisdom attained by a seeker who has endured the great defeat of love, only to rise triumphant, having strived to find the silver linings inherent in the ruin.
