A chance meeting in Sydney in late ’79 led to a job offer from a very young INXS. From then until the early ‘90s I was in constant work as a sound engineer or production manager for local and international bands. In the early 90s I began working with Tommy Emmanuel, who had just finished with Dragon. Through a lucky set of circumstances I got the gig building major stadium stages like Madonna, U2 Zoo TV, Rolling Stones and Luciano Pavarotti followed. Around ’96 I ended up getting my first gig as a film rigger on Dark City, which led onto five years of film work interspersed with my other sound and music work with Babe II, Matrix and Mission Impossible II. I would sit in on gigs from time to time with friends like Bones Martin and Leigh Ivin and started engineering on Sundays at the Excelsior with Ian Rilen, ex-bass player and songwriter for Rose Tattoo and co-founder with Steve Lucas of X. I then became the house sound engineer at the Excelsior, which gave me the time to play a lot
