Songwriting began as an emotional outlet for Aussie musician Jemima, but quickly became an insatiable desire to connect with others and tell stories that mean something. Her confessional 5-track EP, Things I Never Said, debuted at #1 on iTunes Australia’s singer-songwriter charts. Her music caught the attention of Angus Stone, who invited her to sing backing vocals on his Dope Lemon track Streets of Your Town, which was included on Songs For Australia, an album curated by Julia Stone to aid bushfire relief. Jemima’s love for performing began at a young age. At 14, she spent her weekends busking around her hometown of Newcastle and by her late-teen years, she was roadtripping the east coast in her van, playing at pubs, clubs and live music venues. At 20, Jemima moved to London, where she studied songwriting at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM). She then lived in the Netherlands and Canada, before returning to Australia where she is now working on her next release.
