THINK OF JEN LUSH AS A SLOW-MOTION JENNY LEWIS WITH THE FRAGILITY OF EVA CASSIDY AND HOPE SANDOVAL. TEMPERED BY THE AUSTRALIAN-NESS OF THE WAIFS AND RY COODER AT HIS MOST COSMIC. Adelaide singer – songwriter Jen Lush is known for her spacious and emotive, starkly modern folk songs that hammer on your heart. Her love of storytelling wrapped in guitar driven songs have informed her song writing, through her decade with Cat Dog Bird, to her first solo album ‘The Night’s Insomnia.’ Jen’s new album ‘Let Loose the Beating Birds’ to be released in August 2021 looks into the small idiosyncrasies of motherhood and suburban life, whilst examining the broader environmental and political landscape of our current times. Jen and her stellar band have appeared at festivals and venues throughout South Australia, Victoria, NSW, WA and Tasmania, most recently performing a new collection of poem songs at the Denmark Festival of voice 2021, commissioned by Denmark Arts.
