Edit history

Jessie Che is a South Australian singer-songwriter whose music weaves together modern acoustic country, folk Americana, and introspective balladry. As demonstrated in her newly released debut album 'Bowerbird'. With a family history of professional musicians in Europe and ancestral ties to the Blue Mountains of Pennsylvania, her songs are shaped by a deep musical heritage and a life lived close to the land. Now living her life on a rural farm, Jessie draws from the rhythms of nature, memory and emotion to craft songs that are both grounded and evocative. A former music scholarship recipient and band leader, she is most at home in the creative process, writing songs that speak from the heart. Her recent songwriting accolades reflect a growing recognition of her work, both in Australia and on the international stage: 2025 Top 10 - Finalist - World Songwriting Awards - (Modern Country Song Category) 2024 Winning in SCALA’s Festival of Original Music (Lyrics category) 2024 Semi Finalist - Tamworth Songwriting Awards (Bluegrass Category) 2023 Semi Finalist - ISC (International Song writing Competition - Film clip category) 2023 Semi Finalist - Unsigned Only Music Competition (Folk-Singer/songwriter) 2023 Top 4 American Songwriter Magazine Lyrics award (March / April) 2022 Winning in SCALA’s Festival of Original Music (Lyrics category) 2021 International Songwriting Competition Top 3 (ISC - Lyrics category)
