Jessie L. Warren is a musician and composer based in Melbourne Australia. She shares her time between her own musical practice, membership in the bands Hachiku, half/cut, and Lisa Mitchell band. She has composed scores for several films, including The Knife Salesman (2017) and The Diver (2019) which both premiered at the Venice Film Festival and the Melbourne International Film Festival. Warren’s music inhabits ambient, cinematic worlds, with qualities of seeming opposition —light and dark, fragile and strong, atmospheric and structured, personal and universal— swim in the same compositional waters. It is safe to say that everything she does is usually inspired by whales.
