JËVA is the promise made by local Sydney boy Jeffrey Liu, to stand in his truth as a queer Chinese-Australian musician. With roots descended from 2010s R&B, 2nd Gen K-Pop & T Swizzle, his music is a space where he can heal from his trauma, openly and authentically. Always cast in the shadow of his immigrant parents' expectations, JËVA’s upbringing has had a direct impact on his musical identity. Telling his stories and finding solace in his introspection makes up for the lost time in his youth, with every cumulative entry to his musical diary bringing him closer to his truth. In an industry of alter-egos, this is JËVA — no alter, no ego, just a boy on a record, extending a vulnerable hand for you to join him, on the journey of a work-in-progress. He is no longer running away, he is running to himself. Having sold out his first headline show for Typhoon EP & performing his coming out story to a mass crowd of thousands at Mardi Gras Fair Day 22', the future is looking bright for JËVA.
