Joel and Tyler met through a school exchange back in 2006, when they were both 16. Joel grew up in the german town Freiburg and went over to Melbourne for three months. The two started writing their first songs on guitars, Joel had never properly sung before and Tyler encouraged him to just give it a go. Tyler then also went over to Germany and a unique musical chemistry evolved between the two, always on the lines of two guitars in knitted patterns with folky vocals. Now years later the two best friends are still writing together, even though they live on opposite parts of the world. 'Signs Again' was written in Berlin, where Tyler and Joel spent a couple months together in the last months of 2014.
