John has been playing in and around Sydney folk venues for the last ten years. In 2000 he performed at the Woodford folk festival and then, like a true folkie, got a serious dose of wanderlust and disappeared off the radar. When he returned to Sydney, quarantine inspectors found so many nameless, freeloading creatures inhabiting his guitar, that they sent it in for fumigation. In recent years, the emergence of artists such as Beth Orton who have successfully blended pop and electronic sounds into folk music, has inspired John to take the stage again. His sound has evolved to become more 'poppy' while still drawing on the lyrical and melodic richness of 'folk'. Dim the lights and enjoy!
