All the members of Juno Point have spent countless hours and years with other bands on the Australian indie music scene. Listeners may be familiar with names such as Ukiyo-e, The Cannanes, El Mopa and Tweezer – all bands to tread the boards of bars, clubs and venues across Australia at various times. Now the quartet of Steve Foster, Nik Devenish, Matt Grant and Bon King have come together as Juno Point, exploring the sonic terrain of post rock, slowcore and atmospheric indie rock. Their sound is sparse and intimate yet it creates a widescreen mood of subtle drama, similar to the way that artists such as Will Oldham (Palace Brothers, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy) and Jason Molina (Songs:Ohia, Magnolia Electric Co) create both space and weight in their songs.
