K.O.M is an indie-rock, four-piece band from Hobart, Tasmania. The group formed in early 2016, with the sole objective of “just having a bit of fun,” but quickly grew into something more, after a set of songs was established and a line up settled. The band cites influences from the 90s, such as Pavement and Built to Spill, but also channels the sounds of guitar-driven indie from the early-mid 2000s. In July 2017, the group released its first EP, titled The Gist of It, which was made available as a pay-what-you-like digital download. K.O.M’s future ambitions are to release content bi-monthly (at the very least), and to play as many live shows throughout Tasmania and interstate as possible.
