Karen lives in Melbourne and writes songs with the help of some questionable but sufficient guitar & keyboard playing. She would like to call her music 'contemporary pop' but acknowledges this does not really help... Put it this way- there's ambience, moods, melodies and a gold ol' fashioned pop-ness to her songs which she aint' afraid of! But it's not all sunshine and daisies folks, there's some lonesome heavy themes going on here too- you know introspective, looking inside yourself stuff. Anchored by hook-y choruses and essentially pure vocals, Karen's songs fit quite snugly somewhere in the warm pockets of Bat For Lashes, Lykke Li & Florence & the Machine.
