Katabasis is an atmospheric metal band formed by David Butler and Shane Wall. Combining elements from many disparate forms of metal and music in general, the band seeks to establish an emotional grounding rather than a sonic one; any given song may give reign to delicacy, primal extremity, or a variety of textures between. Less concerned with pushing boundaries than it is with ignoring them, Katabasis focuses on the purity and honesty of genuine musical expression.
