As far back as she can remember, Kate Kent has been singing. Performing her first public solo in church at the tender age of six, she continued to flourish on stage throughout her schooling, and her love for music landed her in various community events around Dubbo, NSW. By the time she hit 14, she was already an accomplished vocalist, a budding flutist, and she had begun penning her own lyrics and poetry. In 2009, Kate followed her dream of being a songwriter and moved to Sydney to further her musical education. During that time, she experimented with newfound techniques that brought power and life to her music. Her sound is a delicate balance of profound and playful, spiritual and earthy. Her influences range from Jazz, to Rock, through to contemporary Pop and Musical Theatre - all of which have played an integral role in shaping Kate into the lyrical songstress she is today.
