Welcome to the KehdiDoofi Disqo. Comprised of DJs & producers Chasing Shadows (Revok Records) and Sensory Quench, this electronic music duo treads the less travelled sonic paths of downtempo, ambient, electronic body music and dark wave. Crunchy 4x4 beats chug slowly, supported by a myriad of bassline styles, smeared with analog synths of yesteryear and propelled forward by robotic vocoders and soaring lead vocals: resembling some kind of slow warehouse party in outer space. KehdiDoofi Disqo, based in Mulubinba (Newcastle, Australia) was born from the musical backgrounds of hypnotic techno, noughties French electro house, obsession with melody and a curiosity of where the Australian doof scene is heading. With their first single ‘Welcome to the Disqo’ poised for release this spring, a carefully curated EP ready and waiting to follow, and a live act of synthesizers, sequencers, vocoders, drum fills and vocals, this is bound to be a fresh experience for everyone who beholds it.
