Kelana began playing music at seventeen in his homeland of Indonesia. Inspired by rock legends Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, and The Doors, Kelana’s music style changed dramatically when he moved to Western Australia and started performing in bars around town. He settled on the Mornington Peninsula eighteen months ago and now lives in Rye. Kelana’s style is a combination of acoustic, reggae, roots and funk. He is a loved and local hero at Mexican hotspot Baha Tacos, where he enjoys performing a mix of his own material and 80s and 90s cover songs. He has made our home his own, and continues to write songs about love and life’s journeys—guitar and stomp box at his side.
