Kevin Purdy is a creator of wonderful sounds, a multi-instrumentalist musician, composer and producer, who, in the guise of Purdy has been creating and releasing a plethora of fabulous multi-dimensional, cinematic and psychotropic works for the past 26 years. Purdy has released eight solo albums, as well as several EPs . He also has a large swag of production credits for work in film, radio works for the ABC RN and FBi, as well as re-mixes and specially created tracks for many fine compilations. Kevin also produced three albums for Tooth, his combo with Sir Robbo and John Maddox (1997 - 2006) plus the 2021 album 'Avoidance' he did with Sydney legend Geoff Towner, under the guise of Geoff Kevin. Purdy's work has received a good deal of attention over the years, with wonderful press, radio and television features, with many releases awarded 'Album of the Week' on independent radio and Top 10 ratings on Independent Record Store Charts across the country. Kevin Purdy has been a face in the Australian music scene since the early 80's. His drums, guitars, keyboards and voice have graced a multitude of albums and stages across the country. His musical journey has travelled through post-punk, indie rock, art rock, jazz, R&B, funk, rockabilly, dub and soul and many points in-between. Before going solo in the mid 90's Kevin played in more bands than you could shake a stick at: Aural Indifference, Madroom and the Ocean Stairs being just a few. In the mid '90s influenced by the more esoteric aspects of trip hop, left field hip hop, dub and dancehall and jungle, Kevin shifted his direction to a more sample based studio set up, beginning work on a series of pieces that would culminate into his first solo album 'Kevolution'.
