KICKNIXON emerged from a small corner of Sydney’s south suburbs. The outfit was formed by drummer Ben McClelland (24) after short sessions with vocalist Ben Buchanan (23). Calling on long time friend and guitarist, Dave Croft (23), Kicknixon, earlier known as the Voice of Treason (VOT) surfaced. Within weeks the new band took to the stage at local venue, Caringbah Bizo’s. Oozing energy and inexperience they performed and caught the attention of everybody. Since that date, the music started flowing, venues showed interest and without any recorded material the band knocked up a healthy stack of high powered live shows. Drawing their power and voice from an assortment of genres and musical influence alike, Kicknixon weld a tight seam when fusing their dynamic rock with throbbing funk riffs.
