Aggressive delivery & sharp lyricism paired with skilful production are the lifeblood of Egyptian-Australian artist Kid Pharaoh. Early work including the Mick Jenkins assisted-single “The Times” foreshadowed the barrier-breaking tendencies Pharaoh would accustom himself to, with the arrival of 2018’s “Jesus Looks Like Me” being the mark that shattered ceilings to present himself on a grand scale. A conceptually rich and powerful single providing a unique voice for an underrepresented Arabic community turned heads immediately - landing Pharaoh a spot on the Yours & Owls Festival stage, triple j Unearthed Spotlight Artist status and support slots for international artists as LA’s Duckwrth. After praising his “shades of Kanye West & Childish Gambino”, triple j Unearthed presented Kid Pharaoh as the NSW “Level Up Grant” recipient in 2020. The mind behind every detail; Kid Pharaoh’s creative force is one that continues to defy expectations at every turn.
