Taiwanese-Australian singer-songwriter Kim Yang crafts ethereal melodies reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and Bon Iver. Her soaring vocals and evocative lyrics invite listeners into a world of emotion and introspection. Singing in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese-Hokkien, Kim is an open and engaging presence on stage, creating immersive live experiences through sing-alongs and storytelling. Her lyrics explore love, loss, resilience and identity, shaped by lived experiences of neurodivergence, IVF, mental health and migration. 2026 saw the release of Kim’s debut album ‘Turn On The Lights’, an atmospheric exploration of self-doubt, self-discovery, and self-acceptance. “I wanted my debut album to capture an insight into my essence… Through my musical journey, I have gone on a journey of self-discovery… Now I am at a moment of self-acceptance, confident to share my full story and help others on their own journeys.” – Kim Yang
