I'm Kim, I write love songs. period.. I sing them around camp fires, sometimes on stage, but mostly around camp fires. I have a dog called Skally the Wag and a blue van called ar and a guitar called Goldie (after the gargoyle in the sandman comics). A good guy called Easton recorded my songs on minidisk in a tent at the aboriginal tent embassy in canberra. We were trying to stop the elections there then. We were trying to stop the liberals from winning. We got bashed by the Feds, 3 days in a row. Fourteen year old kids got capsicum sprayed when we reclaimed the streets on election day. But it didn't work. now things are worse. but i still am writing love songs.

KIMBO live review By Celene Axford Kimbo, a vivacious upstart in Melbourne’s underground scene possesses a refreshingly original sound. A blend of aggressive punk diffused through an intense storytelling style. They gather on the stage of the Arthouse, watched avidly by their already growing cadre of fans. With no preamble to speak of, Kimbo kick into their first song. ‘Let me go’ plunges the listener into a booze-laced intensity of sound that retains a well-defined melody and structure which carries the listener along. As the set progresses Kimbo reveal themselves to be a band of diversity while adhering fervently to the unique sound they have created. Carried along by the warm gravelled tones of singer/guitarist, Jules, and punctuated by the strength and clarity of the bands lone female member, Anna, the band spins out tales of misdeeds and misadventures. Backing the duelling vocals is a solid musical style. The sound is held together by the furious yet precise drumming of Mykel
