Gritty electronica, deep synth, solid beats, haunting vocals..Come on down...you know you want to! Born out of a hotel room in Chennai, India of all places, Kinetika was formed by filmmakers Dan Macarthur and Mel Poole while on a year-long Bollywood shoot. Seeking refuge from the heat and pollution between shooting days, Dan and Mel sat down with two Korg Electribes and a SM58 and wrote an album worth of tracks in a matter of months. Using their advantage as filmmakers, the team then produced one of the most epic first music clips for their first single Ghosts from the Past, shooting killer scenes in Queenstown NZ, Barcelona and Brisbane. Producer and composer Dan Macarthur (DMac) has clearly drawn some of his musical taste from the cinema and combined that with deep beats, and gritty synth sounds.
