The ad in the magazine was simple, it read “Singer wanted for Melbourne rock band, influences: Foo Fighters, Dave Mathews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, At the Drive In……..”. After making contact with the bands drummer, I showed up for the audition and what I discovered was surprising……..Passion, intensity, full bodied rock, playing like the room could be full of many thousands of faces or none at all. This was to set the standard for all performances to come. This kind of intensity and showmanship has been displayed at most good Melbourne venues over the last 6 months, and taken King Peso to the final of the Melbourne Fresh Battle of the bands 2006. This, combined with recent Air Play on JJJ is sure to make for an exciting 2007, we just hope the fans enjoy it as much as we will….. MC KP
