As both a weaver of delicate harmony and lo-fi sounds Kira Ann Phoenix brings forth an atmosphere of what can be described as a dream like feeling with her music. From the gothic inspired imagery of her song 'Horror Film' that mashes themes of vintage horror and twisted love stories to the subtlety yet decadence of her voice. KAP's foundations as a vocalist have been strongly influenced by her admiration for the jazz and soul genre, with idols such as Ella Fitzgerald, billie holiday and Erykah Badu to childhood memories encompassing a constance of gospel music. As a child of two ministers phoenix was raised on the soulful and at times mournful sounds of gospel music and group singing. A parallel can be drawn from these times to Kira's heavy incorporation of vocal stacking and harmony, naturally harmonising from a very young age.
