The Kirk Special One-Man Band was spawned of failure. Endless, crushing failure. Kirk Special found it impossible, you see, to get any other musicians in the universe to play with him. An endless series of drummers flaked out on him, and what was a young guitarist and singer to do without a drummer? And so he sat on the world's worst bass drum "the Inbred", kicked it with the world's squeakiest pedal, riffed on his green guitar Shirley, and did the whole damn thing himself.
